Sunnysideup - There's much more bad news to come on the economy in the USA, UK, and Europe yet. Your points about capitalism and its ability to bite bums is well founded. Looks like the best we can hope for is something like Japan's flatline economy for the next 15 years with assets losing value during that time by about 3-5% a year. Could be a good time totrade those guitars (except the two you play most) and buy gold!

The fun part of the forums is the ability in 15 years to come back and see who said what. Pity we can't do the reverse and look at posts from 2028.

Smiles.. yes. Particularly since one of the photos I sent them to copy (I'm getting a brown/amber burst) was of your brown shaded SKB.

You guys talking (bit off thread, but...) about getting a new handmade reminded me. I have a friend who makes guitars and he was saying things have levelled off at about a Year's waiting on the list. now I know that list has been up at two ears in the past (that's how long I waited) so although a shorter list doesn't effect income, he can see a tightening economy. And really no surprises there. No dealer or seller wants to start talking of changing market environments, but you only have to look around to know all is not well. We would be nuts to think none of this effects us as musicians, teachers, and good guys. When I started teaching about twelve ears ago there were two other teachers in my area - other guys joined in until there were seven or eight - we are back to three. I don't buy it - I connot believe that the economy has not effected second hand guitar values - whatever they are.

Sunnyside - Watchout for that Chinese property bubble that will be doing some biting sometime soon.
