If it helps all it does is uncheck every box I have for a guitar. I am guessing you don't want to hear all of the unchecked boxes.

OK, I'll bite. What are the "pro" boxes?

I have a couple of "superstrats" that get close to the chimey Strat sound without actually having the Fender neck I don't like much, but they don't really sound like Strats. And I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of modding the stock electronics to deal with all of the hum and other output issues that are well-documented in "real" Strats.

I'm gonna assume that Yamaha has modernized their design to get around some of these issues. Sadly, solidbody buyers still insist that guitars look like the designs of 60 years ago, so we'll give Yamaha a pass on that.

Lol, the boxes for me are...

Modern neck, I've really liked the neck on the mid priced Pacifica strat styles I've played

Humbucker in the neck-- I've wanted a tele with a neck humbucker but I don't want to change my current tele because it's great as is.

Its pink. I've always wanted a pink
    guitar.

    Its under 1k.

Chiming in as a complete outsider, I believe Yamaha has an unmatched quality/performance/price record. My Tele experience is limited to a low-priced Chinese-built Squier Thinline, which I'm perfectly happy with. If I wanted to dive deeper, Yamaha might well be it.

Sorry Jeff based on the pink paint, the humbucker at the neck position, a beautiful looking fingerboard, and brass saddles I can't talk you out of that at all. Order it.

    Those fingerboard inlays are cool.

I'm thinking that the lipstick fingerboard inlays are cosmetic compensation for the missing lipstick neck pickup, which is why they are silver rather than pink.

Yes, 1 cent under, but not after tax.

It does come in two colors: PACS+11SM Pacifica SC Standard Plus Electric Guitar - Yamaha USA

Won't maintain a good resale value

May require purchase of proper guitar case

Requires additional climate controlled space to store

    More strings and straps

More possessions can be burdensome and is it really good for the planet?

    It's pink

Here a pink guitar, with a humbucker! Checks all the boxes.

Dude, you should know by now, logic is no match for GAS.

I find mixing a humbucker and a single coil on a guitar to be problematic (and I have had several with this combination). First the use of a single set of controls is a huge compromise as each pickup should have different pot values and cap values. Secondly, even with separate pots and caps, it is hard to balance volume when switching through the positions. If you are going to use one pickup almost all the time, this might not matter, but you should still make sure that the pot and cap values are right for what you want.

I see that this model has a premium Made in Japan variation. That would be my choice as I live by the whole "buy nice or buy twice" motto.

Pink would not be my choice, but some guys like them. A former bandmate (he now is the bandleader of my old band) has a Pink Tele. A local artist did a large format oil painting of my old band which now sits in my living room. I will be seeing my old bandmate's pink Tele for the rest of my days it seems...Talk me into or out of this...-live-gayles-jpg

Some guys can't stand bird inlays or certain headstock shapes but that stuff doesn't bother me,my rubicon is i can't do a pink guitar. When i saw it it reminded me right away of the hello kitty guitar posted by Hep to the Jive.Pacifica's are usually good value for the money so i would say go for it but in a different color.

    Strongly disagree on pink guitars.

One can tell I am from an entirely different mold. The problem boxes......

    1. It is a solidbody guitar and other than for some crazy fun at only few times I hate them..........the exception being a Les Paul
    2. It is Pink
    3. Horrible inlays
    4. No fingerboard binding
    5. I hate the bridge set up looks cheap, granted not an expensive guitar.
    6. Yamaha...............I am unimpressed by anything guitar-wise they produce.
    7. Body shape seems a bit long and lean does not fit my esthetics.

The only box it checks for me is a humbucker in the neck position.

I like the fret inlays and body shape. Neck humbucker and tele bridge is the working man’s combo.

None of the color options are for me. But if you like pink get it.

A Pink Tele Vintera with Humbuckers. Made in Mexico. Maybe, ticks more boxes.

Because archtop players don't insist on instruments that look like an L5 or ES-175? Hidebound is the norm for guitarists of all styles (including me...). The folks who want modern instruments are the exceptions. It seems to be part of human nature to believe that the past was better- even when it demonstrably wasn't.

I say go for it. I’ve got a K-line with a low output humbucker (Lollar El Rayo) in the neck and I love it. Never have the humbucker/single coil problem because I don’t use the bridge PU, LOL. Never have to worry about changing weather, leaving it in the car when it’s too hot/cold, etc. Gets a decent jazz tone to boot. Very versatile guitar for other genres, too. The proverbial Swiss Army knife.

Cool guitar, but my current tele has a vintage spec neck, no need for a repeat.

J have never understood the HATE for the Heritage headstock? I always assumed it comes from guys the put more effort into buying, selling and "collecting" things to own rather than real players.

I bought one like it; Godin Stadium '59. Duncan 59 in the neck, single in the bridge. I love it. Not pink. I say just get it

I’m guilty of that. I thought they looked real bad, then I saw one in real life and it was fine. I’d guess most people don’t get to see one in person.
