This arrived today. It's actually mint, minus the very small section of binding, now tight and near flush to bout. Minor (fuss)! Rubbed out the glue spot at bottom of bout too. Also, this is 2020 Super, not a 2003. Seller doesn't understand how to read a SN or just an oversight. I'm fine with the oversight. It looks unplayed and probably is.

Nice score Tom!
-
Odd, though, packing sheet has date of purchase as 1-30-2003 from Wildwood, but SN COA and on F Hole is: 23550003.
-
The last S400 was made in 2017, regardless a big Congrats Tom.
The year it was made is inconsequential. Sweet Gibby !
-
Tom - check for brown label through treble f hole. That label is always dated . Also, the Gibson Custom , Art and Historic period pre dates 2020.

Interesting, no brown label there, only the orange label on bass side. How do I read the SN, then???

Yes, thanks for asking. It all matches, with the standard orange placard--all the same. Brown label would be good to see!

I expected that it would, from the pictures and, as I mentioned earlier, I didn’t expect the binding issue to be an issue. It sounds like the seller was very honest and transparent, pointing that out when it is really nothing to worry about. You got a great deal on a very special guitar.

I do not think so. The link is no longer active. I can't make this any larger, but here is the original pic.

i have been following this thread and hoping that when you got it all would be well as indeed it has proved to be.
i think the Super 400’s from the early 2000’s are exceptionally fine examples of the type.
Just out of this world instruments.
Enjoy and please post more photographs if you can.

The link is still active but it's a different S400 guitar that comes up.

Told you all it was fine. I’m happy TW snagged it!
Congratulations!

I knew you would straighten those pics out! Thank you. Yes, you were right on this one, as were others here. It's settling in now with 51percent FL indoor humidity and new set of TI 12s.

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Congrats, HNGD
and play her in good health!

I wish you were local to me. I’ve got an acoustic that’s hurting for an experienced luthier.

Look around inside, those brown labels sometimes had a tendency to fall off.
