I was in Chicago today. Stopped in Chicago Music Exchange and tried it out. It’s more acoustically responsive than my Broadway, not as loud as my Eastman. Plugged into an amp (Fender Deluxe something or other) it sounded like a single coil pickup.
This one was black and had a matte/eggshell feel.
Really light compared to my Broadway too.

I'm probably obsesse with the deeper cutaway, lol, so just for completeness: They also had it on a former cheaper model, the PM20.
And one of the core "ideas" of the first models (PM100 & PM120) also were the cutaways (2 in their case) and great upper frets access.

I did not have trouble reaching the upper frets.

Not the Ibanez PM3C but the model guitar it was based on, made by luthier Daniel Slaman. Pat has the first one and Daniel made some more, the Sisterhood series.

And #2 and #6:
These are, to my ears, seriously wonderful sounding instruments that will forever be out of my price range, but a tone to covet. It will be interesting to hear whether the Ibanez model gets anywhere close to this tone. Here's Pat playing one of his by Ibanez, very different but that may be the sitch:

I've written a short review here:
The New Ibanez Pat Metheny PM3C Model
It's certainly worth the money. This one is definitely an improvement over the Chinese made PM2, and closer in quality to the PM100.
