I was going to say, it looks more like a flat top than an archtop. This seems like a common trend coming out of China. The new Epiphone 150th anniversary edition Zephry, is literally flat.

it’s slightly arched

in fact My AF2000 japan is similarly arched

Yeah, they biffed that one in my opinion.

(I find apportioning blame helpful.)

I love translating Japanese guitar descriptions. It’s a beautifully poetic language with lots of #9b5’s thrown in.

(Like-new cond. I paid $1450.00 CAD or about $1,055.00 USD)
Very reasonable price for a 17", long scale, 3 3/8" deep, with hard case, ebony finger board, 5piece (no scarf joint) neck, real mop inlays.
The tuners aren't great and indeed there isn't much of an arch, but it is not LITERALLY flat as was stated above. There is a small arch on the top and back.
I have zero regrets for buying it, so I thought that I would respond to your opinion in case others with "working man" budgets are interested in this type of guitar.
Sorry for the derailment, back to the discussion on the Ibanez PM3C.

It’s simple, I don’t like the flatness of the top. A flat archtop is just, meh, swing and a miss, to me.

And still not a single demo video up on youtube. Seems like someone would have bought one by now and thrown something up. Thats surprising.

That does not mean you didn't get a great deal, or that it's not well made, or that it doesn't sound good.
I appreciate that someone barking at your guitar is annoying and or frustrating and for that I apologise.

Hey, no problem. I understand that you are a serious student of the construction of archtop guitars and you find the marketing of this guitar to be suspect.

It's all good. Folks who care about historical accuracy have been informed, and folks who don't have been informed as well.

Heres a video. Better than nothing I guess. Soon there will be one where someone actually plays it. I mean you are holding it guy, strum a chord for crying out loud.

Looks to be fairly lightly built
(From the way he's holding it and moving it around)
(highly unscientific I know)
I couldn't make out a B string notch on the pickup ....
Exciting tho .... They exist !
