The guitar is a custom made Gérard Defurne "Red Thunder" archtop hollow body. This is a model based on the Black Thunder guitar which was in Gerard's catalogue. The guitar has an oval hole and the pickup is sitting on two internal braces with no contact to the guitar's top.
The pickup is a Bare Knuckle humbucker. The guitar is 15" wide, parallel braced, spruce top, maple back and sides, ebony fretboard, bridge and tailpiece. Tuners are Schaller. Hardcase included.
The guitar is all hand carved and is a thing of beauty. There are a couple of very slight lacquer cracks (crack is too strong a word as they are really very faint lines in the lacquer that are only seen when holding to the light at an angle).
I asked Gérard about these and his reply is below:
"Bonjour OK j'ai construis cette guitare, pour le vernis, ne rien faire. Cordialement Gérard (Hello OK I built this guitar, for the varnish, do nothing. Kind regards, Gérard)".
