For those Tal Farlow admirers, this is basically a NOS condition “ Hutch period” guitar with all original paperwork and certificate of authenticity. The nut is 1.700, scale 25-1/2 and neck is straight. Action is .075 from 12th fret to bass side and .065 to terrible side - when measured from fret top to underside of string. There is perhaps a couple of tiny marks , no more or less than you’d find on a new Gibson in a showroom - and some light marks on pick-guard.
The guitar comes with two saddles. I prefer the rosewood saddle and that’s what is present on the guitar. The guitar has that deep throaty vibe typical of a Gibson laminate, and currently strung with TI 12’s.
Asking price is $5000 ( will entertain respectful offers) plus shipping. Payment by Certified / bank check or wire transfer only. This sale is limited to USA residents only- no international sales.
If you’d like a hands on video , I can provide that by sending me a pm. The video will be sent via WhatsApp or cell phone text.
Thanks for looking.

A superb sample and the color many consider the one and only. GLWTS!
I'm on the wrong side of the pond and have a 2011 Tal already, so my interest is purely academic. Do you find a big difference between the TOM and rosewood bridges? I'm considering the latter for a mellower tone but fear to lose authenticity.

Beautiful QAman!

Lovely guitar! I wonder if the person that writes the label thinks it's a bit silly writing 'GUITAR' on it!!

I was going to ask the same question. I'd like to install the latter. Can anyone recommend a seller / retailer for a TAL. Apologies for veering from the sale. But made up for it by sending you a buyer with the link, or trying to. Love the color tone on this TAL. Mine is the same, 2002.

To make sense of that statement, I'd need to know what country you reside in.

Beautiful Tal,these are such great guitars. As i have gotten older, some days i prefer a shorter scale neck but the neck on my Tal never seems to bother me,one of the most playable guitars ever made.GLWTS.

Stevie,
I just noticed this. That’s is a really beautiful guitar. Everytime I owned a Tal and sold it, I came to regret it. The color of yours is my favorite color guitar ever. I like that lemonburst LeGrand you had too. Man you sure know how to pick em.
Best of luck with the sale. That’s a guitar that Gibson should have continued building. It really is beautiful.

Hi, what is the color scheme of the Tal Farlow, it's always hard to tell from photos.
-
Hi, I have a question. The serial number on the guitar is registered to a guitar made on August 26 2023. Any idea as to why it has that serial number.
-
It's a 2003, on the Hutch label. And it's Viceroy color tone.

Right, that's always been unclear to me. I have the same TF and sold to me as Sunburst. I was going by this, partially:

Reverb lists the available finishes as the following. QAmans is the sunburst.
Finish:
Natural
Sunburst
Viceroy Brown
Wine Red
Year: 1986 - 2015
Here's another sunburst:

The serial number indeed reflects a 2023 shipped guitar.

Edit. Further research shows that Gibson changed their numbering system for carved top models in that for guitars after 2000 the first digit in the serial number would be a 2 and not a 0.
Can someone tell me what a 2011 serial would look like?Last edited by Chezdeluxe; 04-24-2026 at 03:34 AM.
