I much prefer the tal and it's built better. The scarfed bracing was a bad idea on the 550 and if you notice, the older ones tops have flattened out. That being said, it's at least a tonal cousin and i do like them. I think the one on tgp seems a little high

Heritage 550 normally uses 2 solid parallel braces they might add 2 small braces to this general configuration. They never used kerfed bracing to my knowledge on any guitar and the last kerfed braced Gibsons were made in the eary/middle 1930's.
