I live in Las Cruces New Mexico, close to El Paso. I'm about to make a trip to Denver. I'd really like to meet a fantastic luthier for archtop guitars. The main cities on the trip are Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Denver. I've heard there's one in Socorro but haven't been able to locate them. I make this trip once or twice a year so if I could find a great luthier it would be super helpful for me. Especially people that can do a refret or a setup. Thank you very much.

If you are looking mainly for repairs, then try Pimentel & Sons in Albuquerque. Not sure about any archtop builders in NM although there are luthiers that could build you just about any kind of acoustic/electric guitar. Both my brother and I have had repairs done well at the Pimentel shop. I also own two classical guitars built by Lorenzo Pimentel. Very nice family business. Let us know if you find some archtop luthiers.

Please check in with Fox Fletcher in Albuquerque. Handmade Electric Solid Body Guitars - Mallory Guitars I highly recommend him. Fox is an accomplished luthier and repair tech. He has a Master Luthier certification from Galloup School of Guitar Building and worked at Collings Guitars as the final setup tech for all of their electric guitars, including their archtops for five years. My friends and I have been taking our archtop and other guitars to Fox for several years now and we trust his knowledge and expertise. And he works in a meticulous manner. And, he is a great guy to know.
