I don't know if this would be something he's really interested in. But,. we'll see.

I see. A big & expensive brother of my own Loar, yeah, I can see why someone would want to be talked out of it

This is an interesting rumor that I’ve never heard Pete say. What I heard was rather that he had a hard time deciding which of the two he was going to keep as his main ax.

Interesting. Tbf I didn’t get that first hand so I may well be wrong.

It’s almost like they are complex hand crafted instruments with natural inconsistency and some are just better than others.

But no I don’t think for many of us Gibson is the alpha and omega of jazz guitar. There was a time obviously when everyone played a Gibson pretty much. Now, there’s a lot more choice.

I remember he did an interview with Mike Moreno and he said the L5 didn't have a great setup, but my impression was both had merits.

Maybe that’s what he meant

I've heard others say they heard it straight from Pete. You'd have to go to the source of course but I know for a fact he brought the L-5 to Zeidler because it was hard to play. If John couldn't get it set up w out doing something drastic no one could. It really needed a neck reset, unusual on a modern L-5.

to some L5 models might be strong enough to lure me to Paris even if it's just to look/hear one in the flash (hands on my back like my mom taught me)
