Hi All,
I have a variety of tube amps, but also have one of the original Raezer's Edge Twin 8 Towers that has been sitting in my studio for years. The original owner ordered it with the speakers wired in stereo, so to activate both speakers I need two cables transporting an 8 ohm load each.
I'm looking for a small head in the $300ish range that I can dedicate for this cabinet. I don't necessarily need it to emulate a tube amp, but I like a full, articulate low end and probably like Jimmy Raney's But Beautiful tone as much as anything. I have an ES-175 with P-90s and a Telecaster Thinline with a TK Smith Charlie Christian in the neck.
Years ago I played it with an Evans Hybrid head, but never found the EQ to my liking; the midrange seemed to dominate. I'm not really familiar with what is out there and what is popular and could really use some direction. Thanks a bunch!!

That looks promising, although I think only one output jack. I need two, unless I rewire my cab I suppose. Thanks!

Why not just open the cabinet and rewire it as a single 4 Ohm load? The only difference is that each driver is wired to one of them right now. Shift the two wires from one of the jacks to the other and you'll have a single channel two speaker cabinet. Wiring both speakers in parallel (both white leads to one terminal and both black.leads to the other) will halve the summed load. Mark the connected jack so you remember which one is connected.
Then you can use one speaker cable.

The Clarus has two speaker outputs, wired in parallel, so it should work for this. You won't get stereo, but both speakers will be driven. You may be able to get an older used one for $300. But personally, I would rewire the cabinet. I know of no actual use for a cabinet wired in stereo. You won't get much separation.

You could even wire the cab with two inputs one for mono and one for stereo. Just remember to clearly mark all the information, in a way that will last. I did not. I now I have a cab that I will have to open up to see what is going on.
