Howdy folks,
I'm trying to make my way through a Polytech Taurus Elite amp that I picked up recently. It seems that the "modulator" (Leslie effect) isn't working.. but I'm honestly not quite sure how it's supposed to work in the first place - I could use an owner's manual!
1) Should the effect work on all three channels?
2) Does it require the footswitch to operate?
3) What is the click-switch on the Speed knob for?
4) There's an IC (16pin DIP) on the modulator PCB with the numbers sanded off.. it's marked PT2201 on the schematic. Can you tell me what type of chip this is?
Thanks in advance.. I'm not having a lot of luck with this so far.

More related questions..
Just FYI, the Taurus Elite ("TE") is a 3-channel amp. All channels are "clean" only - there is no distortion channel, though each has hi & lo level inputs. These are implemented with simple resistor dividers.
One odd thing, is that there only seems to be two inputs to the modulator board. These are a pair of shielded cables running from the Channel 1 & 3 preamp boards to the mod. board. They both meet at the same point on the mod. board.
Why no cable from Chan. 2? If 2 has no mod effect, this is not indicated on the control panel.
There is also a single output from the mod board - a lone, unshielded wire.. no shield is needed? What exactly is this wire carrying? A complete, mod-ed music signal?
Just more stuff that confuses me.

I have no idea if these will be helpful, but here are some schematics.

Yes, that first one is definitely helpful. I only have it as a mis-matched 3-piece image.. where'd you get it?

(BTW, how'd you know it uses the 378B PA? Are you familiar with Polytone?)

You can just right-click on the image and save it locally. That's the same thing you would get through email. There is only one image in the post, both are combined into one.
