Not dirt cheap, and certainly not sh**, but not especially expensive for the instrument of a top pro player. My guess is that he had more valuable guitars, but he did not take them everywhere.

I play some of my gigs with my Yamaha Pacifica 012. I like the way it feels. It doesn't sound as good as the GCS-1 I usually use, except maybe for big band comping.

I’ve liked the comins guitars I’ve tried

I'm sitting here practicing on my '90s ESP (bought new for about $200) through my Superblock US and Toob Metro BG, and I wanted to hear how this combination sounds. So I opened OBS and made a quick video - and it sounds pretty fine to me. Although I absolutely do not consider this guitar sh*t, realizing how little guitars like this cost made me think of this thread. So for those of you who don't think you could gig with a cheap guitar, here's proof.

This was my first 7 string guitar, so I'm quite nostalgic about it. But it's also a fine axe that I've used on countless dates for many years.

I have one kitsch guitar in my collection. It does not sound too bad through a decent amplifier.
