Biggest problem with that guitar was the incredibly slim neck…(on the one I had). If anything, moving that PU into the es175 position would make sense and I *enjoy* the extra couple frets when accessible …..my 2 cents.
Don’t worry Chris, you're preaching to the choir, except the 22 frets, I’m with JZ on that one.

They get that L5 pop to the sound and feel of the string.

come on now! 24 frets and a complete access cut away and I’m sold!

or for mass appeal, 22 frets with the pick up in the 175 position.

too late to put a Floyd Rose on this thing?!?

seriously though, sometimes I’ll spend extended periods of time above the 12th fret….22 makes a world of difference and I know I’m not the only one. also kinda pointless to have the extra frets if they’re borderline inaccessible like the original JP20.

Was this a signature model (or what was it otherwise), was it a one off (I've never seen another one, eccept in the hands of Bruce Forman). Wait, isn't it an FG100, basically?

It's a FG100 but with a different tailpiece, like the one used on the later successor AF2000.
