Watching a Hitchcock episode I noticed this guy playing a late 50s Gibson ES335 in the ultra rare natural finish. Not sure who he is but he's a member of the "Bill Floyd trio"
ps, in case you're wondering that's Diana Dors, the "British Marilyn Monroe" singing. Dors was once married to Dickie Dawson, or Richard Dawson as he was known in the US of Hogan's Heroes and Family Feud. Read her Wiki page if you don't know Dors, a fine actress w a semi sordid background.
Know any other examples of vintage guitars in film? Post em here...

That's awesome! What a wonderful, expensive guitar nowadays!

Early rock & roll was full of ‘em. Start with “Rock Around The Clock” - it’s a showcase of serious Gibson archies….
(I couldn’t find a free video of the entire movie - even YT makes you rent or buy it.)
-
There's a Hogan's Heroes episode with someone playing either a Hollenbeck or Barker (I can't remember which) archtop. It has been discussed on the forum before, but I'm too lazy to do the search.

Here's a fun one w/ Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys.

Jimmy Wyble playing a Gibson ES-150 with Red Norco in the 1958 film 'Screaming Mimi'.

Scotty Moore is in some of Elvis's movies. You can see him at the back of the bandstand playing what looks to me like an ES-350:
There are bunch of "soundies" featuring the likes of Oscar Moore (with Nat Cole)
Tiny Grimes
Slim Gaillard
There's also a decent amount of TV footage of T-Bone Walker (this one has Brownie McGhee on a Flattop as well)

Yes my dad playing a Barker made in 1965 the 8th one that is serial numbered. I have post a picture of it here before fact is I played it yesterday for my practice session. Tremendous guitar exceeds most any I have ever played. Still in wonderful condition. Klink has a birthday party and the band is present my dad had some good screen time. Check it out.

Does Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly) and his cherry red ES-345 in “Back to the Future” count?

lol, great minds etc!

hah! leave it up GB, the still shots are nice and clear

John McLaughlin in Round Midnight, looks a bit like an ES125 though I’m not sure.

I thought of that one too. I think I read somewhere that in some of the close-ups John stood behind him, Martin put his left hand behind his back, and it's John's left hand in the shot. In fact I just Google it. That's what Chico Hamilton reported!

True, I was watching it and wondered how Milner mimed those runs so well, a friend hipped me that it was Pisano
