    Connects. The block is part of the chambering to the back with the bridge screwing through the top into the block. That's been the way we've done it with every guitar we've ever built. You don't get the freedom of movement in the top that you would with floating a block off the top but you get pretty much complete feedback control and I've always considered that to be a fair trade-off.
