I have both Pro Plecs (1.5mm) and Classic Celluloid (1.21mm) in 351 shape, all 18 years old. I find I much prefer the sound of the celluloid version--the Pro Plecs seem much more bright and clicky to me while the celluloid produces a smoother, warmer sound. Also, the Pro Plecs are slightly undersized in comparison, so I always feel like I'm likely to lose them while playing. I know this has nothing to do with the OP, but there are other options.
