But I can't identify it, help please :-) It's a Fender I think. Is there a slap delay going on ?

I saw another video of Dan Wilson. It looks like a Hot Rod Deluxe. I need to figure out the settings on my George Benson HRD.

It's a Fender Deluxe. The tone is merely the standard Fender blackface tone... similar to any other Fender style circuit amps. While I have and really like my HR Deluxe, I can not get mine to sound that that... is touch and articulation of notes is amazing.

JGT: Let’s talk equipment—what guitars, amps, pedals are you into? You’re a big Benedetto dude, yes?

DW: I’m the worst when it comes to equipment. I just plug it in and hope for the best. I have been fortunate enough to be able to endorse Benedetto guitars. They make some amazing instruments. For an amp, I usually go through a Fender Deluxe. I like the natural breakup.

A video with Cyrille Aimee, and you're looking at the amp? Damn, son. Get some help.

Lot more about the player than the amp going on there. He's got that Benson picking thing going on. You would probably do better adopting that style than buying the amp if your liking that sound.

Sounds like it be a compressor somewhere in the recording chain as well. Either a compressor pedal or some compression has been added to the mic signal. The attack of the guitar sounds quite compressed.

She is very distracting from the music isn't she? She is gorgeous without make up fancy clothes. Still, I was intrigued by the atypical jazz guitar tone.

Beyond that she seems to be a very nice and natural person.

Dan Wilson just keeps getting better and better.

I think what you’re hearing is just his impeccable technique played through a Fender Hot Rod.

I saw him a few years ago when he toured with Joey DeFrancesco. He played straight into a Twin and was magnificent. They rocked (er, jazzed).

I have his first Cd, used to watch early videos of him on YouTube where he's playing in churches..

Great player, and he's come a long way.

doubtful. Dan is a guitar into the amp kind of guy. I've never known him to use pedals ever.

I've seen Cyrille Aimee live a few times.
I think she's really grown musically in the last several years. Wonderful.

It seems to be one of her favorite songs. She probably knew it before she got hooked on jazz through the annual gypsy meeting at her hometown Samoix-sur-Seine. It was the first song the famous French chansonniere Edith Piaf wrote herself.

Here is another live version from a festival in France with Emmet’s band with a New Orleans rhythm & blues vibe. I really dig how much fun the people around Emmet always have playing. They are all serious musicians but don’t take it too serious. Note how they crack up after Patrick messes up the ending.

EDIT: Of course it is easier to sing in your first language as well.
