    Doug,
    I’m sorry I didn’t notice this here.
You know, I had a feeling about this one.. and it didn’t take some great clairvoyant to predict this.
1st of all, you are one of the best players I’ve ever heard, and even a better person! You can make a pile of cat poop with hairs sticking out of it sound good, so the guitar is not the star here. But..
When a great accomplished player picks up a guitar, and immediately feels the potential greatness in it, that is the best thing that could happen. For the player, the builder and all the rest of us.
This Borys will take you even higher. Inspiration drawn from an instrument is a powerful thing. I can’t imagine you actually getting better, but if there is room, this guitar will draw it out of you. The James D’Aquisto magic is there. And it’s the closest we will ever come to it again.
Thanks for sharing with us and thanks for being my friend.

Now, it’s your turn bro. I really hope you love yours. Once again, the pedigree goes back to your old friend. The great Jimmy D’Aquisto. I hope you love yours.

Both the rounds and flats sound really good. My preference is for that classic/ old school tone you're getting with the flats. It made me smile a little more than the rounds.
    Just different flavors!

Fantastic sound and playing! I was fortunate enough to own an early (prototype?) Borys BG-100 some years ago which I purchased via the old rmmgj newsgroup. IMO Roger is one of the great laminate jazz box luthiers. Emily Remler, Larry Koonse, Pat Kelley - Borys jazz box players!

Finally back to the US I am just now getting acquainted with her. What a great guitar! Lots of mojo and such a great acoustic sound I forget it's an all laminate instrument!

The first video is with the round wound D'Addario strings it arrived with. The second video has TI flat wound 12s.

I prefer the acoustic sound with the round wounds but she's much easier to get around on with the TI flats.

Videos are kind of a good argument against using flats.

And I though I was getting better on guitar. Then there's this sort of playing showing up randomly on the forum. Bitter. So bitter.

Spook, what are you complaining about? I have done many gigs with Doug and have had to solo AFTER him. No matter how good you think you are, there is always someone better.
It is all good. It keeps us inspired.

Ha! Last week I was at the Rocky Mountain Archtop Fest walking around bumping shoulders with guys like Bruce Forman, Frank Vignola, Jimmy Bruno, Ron Jackson, Ted Ludwig, etc... I was the one thinking "I have GOT to practice more!!"
