I've owned some 90 or so archtop's. But have since limited myself to only 3, not counting 2 nylons, and 2 flattop's.

    Here's a few of them...

An Artist Award, and a rare Napolitano Prima Vera. Most of these were shot with an iPhone 6, long before I began buying camera gear, which is an entirely different rabbit hole.

    the blu Super Eagle

a trio of SE's, from the days when they were cheap...

    a Wesmo

my second archtop, a Yamaha AE1200 S, which was purchased before the buying frenzy began

the stately Heritage Golden Eagle Florentine

a rare Heritage JS, in a rather vintage shade that I've never seen on another

okay, no photo shoot is worth anything without some audio gear

a Heritage Gretsch, and a Heritage Kenny Burrell, essentially kissin' cousins

    Wow!

How would you rate them? How do you decide which to play? Do you gig with all of them?

    a fiery Tal Farlow

another sold way too soon, a '73 Super 400

finally, an ES175 in sunburst...took me forever to find the right guitar in SB

a honey burst Golden Eagle, w/ an L5 style pick guard made from ebony, of course

the trio of Super's. Okay, the SKB doesn't count, but they play the same

a mystery guitar... an Aria PE180 w/a DeArmond floating pup

the first real 18” Archtop acquired, a Heritage SE, which I later dubbed, Lady Rose

I probably spent way too much on this WU finishing it out, but I couldn't resist doing it right, w/a Pete Biltoft CC and all of the extra trimming's. Extra Credit if you can spot the extra wide Matt Cushman ebony bridge...oop's I gave it away.

    an Ibanez...

My boy Humphrey...I miss him so. Okay, so just a few from back in the day. Thx for looking.

I’m a closeted Gibson fanatic, for once you’ve owned a nice L5, I’ve been blessed to own 3, you’re hooked forever.

But for acoustic’s, which I include guitars with floaters, my finest sounding was a Campellone Deluxe. Man, what a nice guitar! Yes, sold because it was near the beginning of the journey and I had too many others I desired to sample.

When you’ve got 15 archtop’s, you simply lick your finger with your eyes closed, point and say, that one.

I’m merely a home player. Bossa Nova and ballads move me. But I love to listen to someone with real chops!

It took me a while to get through this awesome thread. Hyperventilating from the beautiful archtop photos slows me down.

Greg, those are the days when I was living vicariously through your NGD posts. I learned a lot. I’v had my share of great ones as well, and when my Campy arrives in a few weeks I expect that, between it and my Trenier Model E I will have the best of any I have owned here at the same time. Thanks for all the entertainment and education your purchases have provided for me.

What a beautiful collection. One which really caught my eye because I almost bought one was the Napolitano Prima Vera. Bill Fender had one just like this all blond, flamed and loaded with binding. And the top of that headstock- wow! It was between this and a blond Campellone Special which I bought.
My collection at its largest was 9, now down to a sensible 5, including a 1994 Emperor Regent in the often advertised Antique Sunburst - which I have an odd obsession for.

    90 archtops? Really?
    In how many years?

You didn't have gas, you had a disease.

I’m not alone with guitars no longer residing with me.

    Post ‘em if you’ve got’em!

I know Danny W. has some along with absolutely beautiful photos!

    From 2012 to 2016. Gulp!

What’s even stranger is that I can individually name and recall every one of them…in order of their arrival. A total wasteland of guitars in one section of my brain.

I remember that one. It was a real player with a finish burst to match.

What a gorgeous collection! What did you think of that Bartolini 5J?

I think I missed the black GE acquired from the good Dr, later sold to a jazz guitar student in SC. That was a great sell because the kid really needed a guitar.

and the one that got away…. Super 400 CC, for $6500, that I couldn’t raise the bread for!
