Hi All,
I noticed that a couple of forum members acquired Rivera Jazz Suprema amps within the last few months and I would assume that other members own them as well. I had the older 55 watt version with the 12" speaker and sold it a couple years ago because I just couldn't get to the sweet spot without increasing the volume beyond a level I wasn't comfortable with in a small room. Fast forward to now and I bought a fairly recent 25 watt Recording version with a 10" speaker. I am finding it much more comfortable volume-wise to get to the sweet spot with the lower power output and the half power switch that is part of the Recording upgrade.
I am interested in finding out what settings forum members are using with their Jazz Suprema amps and what tonal goals they are trying to achieve with those settings. Right now, I have Gain set at 3, Treble at 3, Middle at 7, Bass at 3, Reverb at 3, Master at 7, Focus at 5 and Presence at 5. Also, Notch off and Fat on. I am trying to achieve a warm tone with definition, i.e., warm but not muddy. I have not yet really experimented with the Focus and Presence controls so have left them in what I believe to be a neutral setting.
So, if any owners of these amps would be willing to respond back with their specific model, settings, and tonal goals, that would be great! Any other inputs like where you use the amp, guitars played through the amp, pickups, etc. would also be interesting.
Also, I should mention that at one point I had watched all of the YouTube videos on the Rivera website for this amp model and wrote down the settings each guitarist used for their video. I can't find where I wrote it all down, but will either locate it or revisit the website and post the information here. What I do recall is that there was no common theme in their settings. They were mostly all over the place with varying tonal results.
Thanks!
Bill

I have the 25w x 12 model. I have it on half power and this is my sweet spot for home use. Pretty flat across the board.

Thanks, Vinny! Yes, half power is where it’s at for me too. The 55 watt earlier model without the half power switch was just too much for home use unless I lugged it into the great room when people came over. I think the settings are pretty straightforward except for the Focus and Presence controls. So for now I am leaving them at 5 in the middle.

Frankly I think the 10 inch model has the better jazz speaker.
The 12 has a Celestion T75 which isn’t really a jazz flavored speaker.

The 10” speaker is a custom Eminence. So I guess Rivera had more of a hand in voicing it to fit the jazz guitar application. It would have been interesting to compare my current Jazz Suprema with my old 12” model.
