    I think Dave plays a 339 with a bigsby? Otoh don’t they normally have a dot neck?

    i remember Dave saying it was a 339 but this was about 15 years ago lol

    I was going by this interview, mind you this looks about 10 years old:

    David Preston Interview | Jazz Guitar Scene

    I never really got a good look at his guitar, what with the music stand, and then between sets he put down it facing to the wall.

    To be honest, I really don’t know much about all the different types of Gibsons, what pickups they have, etc., for some reason gear has never intrigued me that much. As a guitarist I know that’s a bit weird, I don’t know why it is.

    The only reason I bought an ES175 back in 1982 was that it was the only jazz guitar I’d heard of, and it’s still the only jazz guitar I own!

    you’re probably right then.

    tbh I’m the same. Probably help if Gibson gave them more memorable names
