I really like the Zeidler tailpiece. It’s such an interesting design.
Here’s another that I like.

Amazing tailpieces.
I’m thinking about building an archtop guitar. Is there an online source to buy unique tailpieces such as the ones shown here?

I know a guy who has a pile of new old stock, discontinued ABM archtop tailpieces, along with a few vintage Gibson, Guild, Waverly and Kluson archtop tailpieces. Feel free to send me a PM.

Borys B-120. Adjustable tension. I no longer have this guitar, but it was lovely.

I added some embellishments to my Sebring L5 style guitar's faux tailpiece to upgrade the appearance.

I'm just picturing all you guys looking at this thread on your laptops and when your wife suddenly pops into the room and you very quickly slam the top down so she won't see what you're looking at. She is suspicious now, very suspicious.

I don't have to hide it. I'm allowed to look, just not touch.

I realize this style of tailpiece isn’t for everyone. I actually prefer more bling on my guitars, but I have to admit these two sound amazing. I do think the ebony tailpieces are part of the reason they sound like they do. Benedetto Fratello and American Legend 7 String by Dale Unger (American Archtop).

With all due respect to the classic originals, I present these two faithful reproductions. The first is from my 1979 Aria Pro II PE-175 Herb Ellis; the second is from my 198? DJArgus Excel AEX.

I really like that one.

I like simple. My fave all wood, followed by fave mixed. Fave all metal is the current Borys.

Tailpiece of my original archtop crafted by Daniël Slaman in The Hague. That's a map of Italy that you can see there.
