ABM Model 1251. Another one of my favourite tailpiece designs. Elegant and tough - I have yet to encounter a broken one. Mostly associated with specific Hofner archtop models, and no longer in production.

I realize this style of tailpiece isn’t for everyone. I actually prefer more bling on my guitars, but I have to admit these two sound amazing. I do think the ebony tailpieces are part of the reason they sound like they do. Benedetto Fratello and American Legend 7 String by Dale Unger (American Archtop).

A lot of beautiful photos of some lovely hardware here! Must be something wrong with me though. When I see the Benny style I always see some sort of hairbrush or mirror handle or something.

I like simple. My fave all wood, followed by fave mixed. Fave all metal is the current Borys.

Funny thing, but I actually prefer Campellone's Deluxe tailpiece to his Special tailpiece - not too little, not too much, just right - a real Goldilocks choice.
