    I don't want to hijack DB's thread, so I'll just post a link-- but this was all recorded on a 000-15 with monels, it'll give you an idea of the sound...I would imagine they'll be a little brighter/louder on the Larrivee, but still nicely balanced.

    Played most (or all) of his career on a flattop with soundhole pickup. Not sure if this was on his Gibson or Martin, he played both at different times.

    I saw him live with Jimmy Steward , both played Ovation models , late 70's .....



    Re playing a flattop guitar in a "Jazz" setting these two recordings stood out for me personally , late 70's and early 80's :

    Steve Khan "Evidence"
    John Abercrombie "Characters"

    Besides all of Ralph Towner's work , alone, with "Solstice", Oregon and the 2 wonderful Duo-albums with Abercrombie ....
    Philippe Catherine of Belgium was also a proponent, together with Larry Corryell
    "My Goals Beyond" by Mahavishnu John McLaughlin made a huge impact ....
