I got this one from Native Sons out of New Mexico. 3” wide, padded, made of hemp woven in Guatemala, very comfortable and easy adjust to exactly my desired length. I think they also do leather.

Nice to see you here Ron. Huge fan of your playing, you truly are a masterful guitarist!

Thank you, and thank you to the others who have responded in this thread. I can't remember how I saw the post on my guitar strap. I created a membership to be able to respond. I don't have a lot of time to sit at the computer or fool with my cellphone. I briefly looked through some of the settings here, and they seem overwhelming to my old brain. Facebook has become a sort of too much time wasting so I don't spend much time there and avoid all the groups. I hope that if someone here on Jazz Guitar Online has a message for me, I will get it and respond.

I would also like to welcome you. We have a lot of wannabes, but not many well-known professionals. Hope to see you here often. (I'm one of the wannabes, not even an unknown pro.)

Dude! We're the oldest batch of brains in the jazz guitar world! You belong here.

I bought a new Evans 150 back in the day, and I got a call from one of the family to find out how I liked it. I told him it was a wonderful amp but I thought I could use a bit more power and clean headroom for some gigs. He told me he was experimenting with a 200 watt chassis in the smaller 12" cab, thought it had a lot more acoustic output, and would be happy to send me one if I returned my 150. When I asked what I would owe them for the swap, he told me he had a great use for my 150 and not to "worry about it". It seems you used to help your students get Evans amps, and mine apparently went to one of them.

44 years with one strap! Geez, and I thought I was a master of using things as long as possible. Salut, Ron! And welcome!

{I know it's an old thread, but...}

With this square end it doesn't seem to give you the option.

The usual way is to put the narrow end at the tailpiece, the wide end at the end of the body. It works fine on most guitars, but one with the strap button in a recessed heel can be a little more difficult. I don't put a strap button there, if the heel is shorter than the body, but that's just me. I prefer the strap button on the rim, but if the guitar already has a button on the back I just deal with it.

I also don't like buckles, metal, plastic, or any adjustments. A few years back I started using leather mandolin straps - 46 inches between the furthest slots and 3/4 inch wide. The length is perfect for me, and despite my 9 lbs. guitar the thin strap width is fine because I run it out over the corner of my shoulder which also puts the finger board in classical position.
