Vinny, that's beautiful! Must take a lot of work to keep it free of lip marks from all the kissing! Does your wife get jealous?
-
If you want a Campy buy it the price is ok and guitar looks great the modern equivalent of a D'angelico guitar.

I've owned one of Campellone's excellent instruments for the past four or five years. I play it through a Princeton Reverb Reissue, with a 12 inch speaker.
It sounds and plays as good as it looks.
Thanks mark!

Like the Deacon, I own guitars made by John D'Angelico and I own a guitar made by Mark Campellone. If your taste goes to the classic Gibson/D'Angelico archtop sound and feel, a Campellone is your best choice in a modern luthier built guitar.

There is this thing that some guitar players want to have a guitar built just for them and therefore go through the process of ordering and building from a maker. I am not saying there is anything wrong with this but practically speaking I will never do this and have no reason. Buying a Campellone now used means you are not on a waiting list. You get the guitar and make the decision right away if this is the guitar for you. Granted you can order a new one, but my real guess is the differences will be small.
The late Bill Barker would always tell someone that if they found one of his guitars used for sale and like it, he said buy it now, I cannot guarantee a new one will be any better. This actually happened quite a bit over the years. A player would call Barker and say they found a used Barker and like it or wanted it, then would inquire about Bill building them a guitar. He never was about selling a new one as such, crazy as it sounds and he would tell the player go buy that guitar. Sometimes the guitar might need a bit of work even and he would tell them to buy it and then he could get it set up for superb playing.
Buying a used Campellone if you are in the marker for a Campy just make sense. Frankly if it is in wonderful shape paying what a new one cost is not really out of question. The thing about Mark C is he is a known entity and nice fellow to boot. The only thing you lose it a very long waiting time to get a new built. Pay now and play now.

I love when these threads get bumped, and we all get to go through them and see all the amazing pictures again

Like the Deacon and Stringswinger, I also own guitar(s) made by John D'Angelico and Mark Campellone (although nothing as fancy as a Cameo!). I can attest that Mark's work is second to none. If you can't decide between new and used, buy a used one now and also get on the waitlist for a new one (if you can). When your number is called, sell the used one. They're not going to go down in value!

Nicely said.

I wonder if there are / will be more Cameos in Mark’s pipeline? By my estimation there are 12 in existence. I am the lucky owner of number 11, it’s a wonderful instrument.

Ok, I couldn't help but take the opportunity to align the order of our posts right here to match Page 8 of Mark's gallery. Vinny and his Cameo #10 on top, then Artichoke and Cameo #11, and finally me and my custom ES-250 (or as I like to call, it the "CS-250")

Appreciate that Andrew, but that’s not my Cameo! Mine is SN6120824 in chestnut sunburst.
