For the past 3 hours I've been looking for my keys in my small, one-room apartment. I know they're in here because how else did I get in?

It's gear in the sense that I can't leave until I find them.

I admit once I was looking all over for my capo and I finally found it, clamped to headstock

Is that not the classic "where are my glasses?" as they rest on your forehead?

Do that all the time with tuners.

And yeah, do that all the time with sunglasses that go over my prescription ones.

I lost a walnut tele neck with a rosewood fret board here a few years back, haven't found it yet.

Somewhere in this room, I have a thing that connects USB-A devices to the USB-C port on my MacBook. I need it. I cannot find it. I cannot use old USB drives that contain stuff I need or the device that connects my guitar to GarageBand.

I would buy another but we are in Lockdown indefinitely. I could order one for delivery by mail, but that would cost a fortune

Apple must be living on selling adapters. I need two to hook up my firewire interface to my current macbook. And another for USB. That one usually is on my wife's desk. I would ask if some family member borrowed it.

We have been pretty much in lock-down for eighteen months now, only going out once or twice a week to shop or whenever called for an emergency response; so most of this time has been spent in my computer/music room - - - somewhere in there I appear to have lost, or at least misplaced, my mind.

You can buy USB adapters on ebay for less than $1US each, pack of two less than $2, with free shipping from China to almost anywhere. Apparently the Chinese government offers free service to their own customers.

The worst was when I hid my wife's Christmas present-to-be and couldn't find it for the holiday. Was able to buy a substitute. The original turned up two years later.

Three days before a church gig, I guess I'm going to have to go to the local GC to buy the cheapest capo they have for two songs (cowboy/folk chord fingerings). I can't believe it, having one of the best capos ever made, lost in the house. Not only that, I now finally post-covid have a bunch of theater work contracted for the season starting in Oct where I really need my wireless unit. I do *NOT* want to have to buy another one of those knowing mine is stored "somewhere in the house."

And my wife has the nerve to say "Why are you so cranky about this?"
