If we speak about jazz boxes - I would prefer generic one humbucker (preferably floating) guitar with medium-sized body, and I want teh head to be small (not like D'Andelico or Epi)
It can be cheap but should be comfortable and well setup
Actually not long ago I sold everything as I gradually came into lutes and have to invest into it more...
I kept 2 guitars
- modified Aria Sinsonido (with a humbucker, TOM bridge and new tuners - i will sell it only if I starve to die)
- luthier-made all-solid acoustic flattop OM (very elegant and sonorous instrument with vintage-style slottted head, I like it)
But I missed something archtopy - so I began to look for some one-hunbucker cheap used guitar that was preferably played by a good musician so it was played into well and setup. I tough about Ibanez, or 6th ave, maybe Aria or Regent (I do not like the head), or Burny .. whatever I come across...
But suddenly I came across Dean Palomino which turned out to be very nice an dcomfy and what was strange the original pickup was good... I mean it is good, I tried many guitars of this type... this pickup has warm but very artuculated (not muddy) tone that reminds of P-90 more than of humbuckers... so I bought it
So if you ask which guitar I would have kept - it looks like this is the one I kept
