Thanks Brian. You're the 2nd person who's recommended that very speaker. In the other case, it was to bring a Peavey Bandit ('RedStripe') alive for jazz use.

I've now been gigging my SCXD at a restaurant with a trio (averaging twice a month) for a year and a half. I still love it every bit as much as when I first got it. The clean tones on it are fantastic and full of life (probably due to the tube poweramp section). It's been loud enough for me.
Granted, I would prefer my Princeton Reverb RI, but the SCXD is a fantastic grab & go combo at just the right size/weight for restaurant jazz gigs.

Looking for a small practice amp, did you try it with a jazzbox equiped with floating PU?
BTW, I'm more interested in the classic jazz electric sound than the pure acoustic amplified tone.

No, I've only used it with humbuckers.
