I'm cutting a little drawer near the input jack to carry picks, extra socks and what not. Dark, humid space inside hollowbody guitars are also great for curing meat. Never know when the hunger strikes in the middle of a gig.

I have no doubt that a PRS hollow like this would be a great playing and sounding guitar especially with you behind the wheel, Jim. I can’t get over the inlays though and I know that PRS likes to use the bird motif. I often wonder what some builders have for a background in aesthetic theories. I can’t see how this bird pattern relates to a mostly traditional looking guitar design. Of course the cop out theory is that it doesn’t have to, but I don’t go for that. Someone fell in love with the idea and thinks that it should have an appropriate universal appeal. Hubris.

No doubt that was the intention. Just not my cup of tea.

Hmm? You can have a banjo that is more or less all inlay:

When I saw the title of the thread I immediately thought of that odd shaped thing Heritage put out that was built of layers of colored woods. I never "got" that one.
Big

That would be the Heritage Gerry Gessie signature "Little One" guitar.

My '86 Custom 24 is the best guitar I've ever had, period.

Not enough dragon, too much guitar. Meh.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. There are unique features of some guitars that I like. Some that I don't. Then there is the "monkey grip"

So when I was reading this thread about strange guitar features, I had to rant it out.
I guess as you said some buy these guitars because they are big Steve Vai fans. Good for them. But then, I don't like signature guitars even when I like the artist (or the design). To each their own.
I do see how my post my come off a bit harsh tough. I apologize for that.Last edited by Tal_175; 12-31-2018 at 11:19 PM.

The Jem is stupid
But I couldn’t pull off Vai’s wardrobe either
Know your limits
Also Tosin Abasi is the only man alive who can play an 8 string without looking like a dweeb
