Please excuse the Unity 100th Anniversary pic slipping in there... Ya gotta be me, some days posting isn't that easy. LOL

Well, Big, you finally did it! After searching since 2000 (Y2K), you finally scored BIG Time!!
Congratulations, my friend.
Now the amazing Peter Farrell will have to update his Facebook 'family' photo.

Congrats, BigMike! Way to stay on task! I’m excited for you!

Thanks guys... Tim, in talking with him he had quite the stable of the GB range... Looking at his Reverb account I saw he recently sold a GB40th Anniversary (not the lesser MIC model) and also a really swell GB12. I'm excited to finally get off the fence and buy this. Of course the earlier pricing on it was crazy. He said where he got it (not from GB) he paid 8000 Euros. Now having lived in Chile I can attest to how crazy out of whack prices are on good gear. We're so spoiled here in the States...
And Peter shared with me he will need to change his Family photo as his wife recently Blessed him with a baby boy...

What an amazing story Big Mike. Happy for you man. I too am a GB fan and know they are going to a bigger fan than I. Love the collection you have built.
-
Nice score, Big! Looking forward to your porch shots!
-
Big congrats, beautiful. Good things come to those who are patient I suppose. Hope you love it.
-
Nice one Mike!
Congrats buddy!

BigMike is a Blonde's Best Friend, whoodathunk?
Congratulations, very lovely!

Awesome! BUT, I think it just screams for all black hardware. Knobs, tlpc, tuners, strap buttons, even switch tip, etc.

-
Big Mike,
Never apologize for a Unity appearance!
Nice score on a very interesting Ibanez!
-
By the way, Peter Farrell sounds great on that Gibson Barney Kessel.
-
Great collection Big Mike. I'd have to sell an organ or two to catch up to you . . . and I'm not referring to keyboards.

Well the Y2K is enroute, so I closed a deal on this GB12 Mr Benson used to promote and record with for the George Benson Institute... too cool for school...
I always thought the GB100 was just a follow up to the GB12, ya know same guitar but with a different name. Peter says no emphatically. Reading the archives at ICW he IS correct...

Peter claims GB thinks the GB12 was the best project Ibanez did for him.
Enjoy the photos...

Purrrrteeeee axe ! Congrats Mike. Do enjoy my friend.

Wow! What a gorgeous instrument!
Enjoy!

Hey Mike,
congrats on your latest acquisition, I love the GB models
the only non-Gibson I now have is my GB10 , Natural finish
one of the easiest guitars to play IMO. and it has that "tone"
the most comfortable guitar, when arthritis pays a visit.
I do regret selling my GB100 some time back.
Enjoy the GB12, with its great provenance
-
Nice. Congratulations, you dog!
I'd really like to meet this Benson guy.

I didn't mention it boys but that picture of the F-hole on the GB12... GB put the same stuff he used on Red to close the holes up. Peter did not say the guitar is foam packed, I think they just covered the holes with that stuff that looks like unvarnished ebony...
Transit time the Y2K is about a week, using FedEx economy air... considering the Y2K is coming in it's stock flight case it was EXPENSIVE... but I had the option of him getting a different case that is far light but opted to keep it totally stock. I think you get why... EXCITING.

After hopping from Sao Paulo to Aguadilla Puerto Rico to Memphis in one night the Y2K is on a truck out for delivery today...
Reminder: never check the tracking status on a parcel in the middle of the night unless you wanna spend a couple hours and be as excited as a 5 year old on early Christmas Morning waiting for it to be late enough to get up... LOL
