Well dog, what does one say when you find the Holy Grail of George Benson models ?? This guitar is 18 years old and looks new, untouched... It's the size of a GB100 and it's far lighter than other Benson model I have. It's doesn't feel like the usual poly finish, I think this is lacquer... I don't like the old flight cases but this one is fancy with it's black and gold exterior. Got one case pocket and wrapped in some cellophane is a little gold plaque, sort of a certificate of authenticity. I'll get some clean shots of it.
The neck is very comfy, it feels a little flat but my hands feel huge around it. BUT it's really nice to play. I did a couple of hymns and found myself way up the neck and didn't noticed at all any encumbrance...
This guy Peter Ferrell he wrapped it and got it out as soon as he had my funds. Anyone thinking of doing business with him: I give him the Big 5 Star rating... no horsing around.
Enjoy...
I'm gonna go play her for a while...Last edited by BigMikeinNJ; 07-30-2018 at 07:58 PM.

So exciting BigMike! Congrats on your NGD. That's one sweet Benson you have there. Enjoy!

Outstanding!
In your photos the neck pickup appears to be a bit larger than the bridge pickup. Is that an optical illusion?
Images from Ibanez show them being the same size.

Big... I just saw this - how cool. Congrats man!

Mike, that back and those sides are on fire!

The pickups are the same size, the body width is the same size as the other GB models - the depth is at least as deep as a GB100 (I can soon verify it is as deep as a GB12)... I cannot stress how much lighter it is and how elegant the materials used and the means of construction are. It has to be a lacquer finish. The top is a tad thinner too I believe... I plugged her into my Texas Flood and it's got a deep tone to it much like a GB100 does compared to a GB10. Also it seems a bit louder unplugged and plugged in it almost wants to feed back.
All in all I am a very happy camper.

There’s not much info out there on these. No YouTube videos, only sparse comments by fanatics like this fella:

GBY2K's are fantastic 'over the top' models. It's the first 'solid' wood GB model and I hope not the last. Fred's Music comes into some cool n.o.s. stuff sometimes (I got my AR3000 from Fred), so it looks legit. He might have picked a bad time to list it so close to Christmas and all, but ya never know. Seems that collectors dedicated to the mark always have that extra cash ready for a deal such as this.
Let's see how high this one goes for.Guitartim

That Guitartim dude sounds like an over-the-top GB fanatic. I'd steer clear of him!
