The Peterson is by far the best of the best. You can use it for even the most critical setup work.
I use the original Silver one, but the new one works every bit as well and looks more modern sci-fi silly, while the original looks like it was on “Lost in Space”.
Profoundly ugly tuners, but superb tools.

I have a Peterson clip-on cable, which clips on the headstock and the other end plugs into my phone, which runs the Peterson software. I think it's about as accurate as a complete Peterson strobe, since the software is probably the same, with a rather powerful CPU running it. I use it for intonation, and sometimes use just the phone at home, where I don't worry about annoying anyone else and it's not worth getting the cable/clip out. But outside, I use a small clipon. I have a Snark, an Intellitouch, a Korg Hammerhead, and a cheapie I got from Reverb for ~$2 during a sale. The Reverb cheapie works as well as the others, but it's hard to find a way to attach it that's easy to read, since the adjustments are limited. But they all work for a quick retune when (not if) a string goes out while playing.

I've got a ton of Planet Waves tuners. I have headstock versions that hide out of sight on a few guitars and in a couple ukulele cases, but I've been starting to move to their sound hole tuners for the ukes. Since they're made for guitars, they require a few layers of painter's tape to help fill the gap, but they're great.
A really nice pickup in a cheap guitar
