    Hi all,

I've talked to a few of you by phone about this but wanted to post this as well to give you all a heads up. The 175's and 335's we've been offering at killer prices are coming to an end..we're almost out. I was hesitant to post this b/c I don't want to come off as "salesy," but you all have been great friends and I wanted you to know and don't want anyone bummed out they didn't get in before it was over......if you have questions or are interested in feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or call the shop. Thank you all---David A

ps....if you email me mention the forum also!

Thanks David for taking great care of all of us. Many of us here got great guitars at unbelievable prices.
It was definitely a fun ride.

This has been a great time! I got my first CME "deal" before this actual sale kicked in, in March 2016, a VOS 1959 ES175 that I continue to relish and enjoy. Then during the 2017 extravaganza I found a figured ES175 that also has been a 100% delight. In both cases, CME has done well by me and made it possible for me to have these 2 instruments for less than what even one of them would have cost me otherwise.

I can promise you whenever I'm in the Chicago area, I will drop in, and likely show up with my credit card loaded and the safety clicked off, ready to fire!

My wife has a meeting in Chicago all day this coming Saturday. She was going to make the two-hour drive by herself. Ever the gentleman, I offered to drive her up and ‘wait’ for her...

Thanks David! I bought 4 with the intention of keeping 2 and selling 2. I am having trouble figuring out which 2 to sell! A true first world problem.

CME moved some serious Gibson inventory. Everyone won. Gibson, CME, and of course us guitar players. You get spoiled very quickly. Going to be extremely hard to swallow Gibson full retail pricing again.

I have dealt with them all. Even before the smoking Memphis sale I also was able to get the best prices from CME.
There great customer service has definitely cemented a very positive future IMO.

Not too often when everyone wins. 2017 was a great year for Gibson dreams to come true.

Hey, the guy with the 175 in Europe did not win.

Can CME do this guy a solid and take care of him?

Help with CME ES-175. Can this be fixed?

Thanks to CME I was able to get my dream guitar - an ES-175. It's one that I'll own and play for life. Seems like Gibson might owe you all a big thanks for moving so much of their 2016 inventory. And a special shoutout to your salesman Jason F. He was very helpful and even followed up with me after the sale.

    Best,
    Skip B.

Not quite. While the CME deal is a mere blip in the overall electric guitar marketplace, the sale focused specifically on Gibson Memphis production - laminated archtops of various sorts. The narrow niche market for this kind of instrument was definitely affected, with downward pressure on prices. Some sellers of recent, used Gibson laminated archtops, who had paid regular, discounted retail prices for their instruments, as well as some smaller retailers, who had paid regular wholesale prices for their instruments, definitely did not win.

I went to my local shop yesterday evening, and they now have a beautiful ES 330.
How can I pay nearly twice as much as you guys have paid for a similar guitar during these crazy days ?
Didn't even try it ! (this time ....)

    Sorry for the shade....
There's going to be a lot of "flawed" ES's out there in the used market soon. Ask the right questions if you're in the market. Buyer beware.

I can only say my cme es175 vos is a better playing and finished guitar then all the ones i tried in local stores at full price.. I had it double checked by my luthier who told me it was perfect and was surprised i even played with such low action(light touch i guess)
