    it all starts with the wood used...tonewise and aesthetically..many usa/euro luthiers are extremely involved, learned, particular & opinionated when it comes to the the selection of their wood...apparently not equally so, yet, from the asian producers mentioned above ^

    Would be nice to have a few new US factory acoustic archtops to play with. But they are rarely seen and never affordable. I can only judge by my guitars. Several of which are pretty good acoustic instruments. Certainly worth tinkering with.

    BTW.. thanks for your posts. You seem to have a lot of experience/insights into these topics.
