Least loved? That echoey bottom-of-a-well watery sound, definitely. Can't stand it

Lawson wins. The red knob distortion on any Polytone amp is the world's worst effect.

Coming in second place is the distortion knob on the Roland JC120 .

Ugh! I have used both on gigs.

sad thing is that it can be used interestingly. it just isn't.
It ain't jazz but I love the David Lindley and El Rayo X sound of the early 80s. That to me is an interesting use of a chewy chorus sound.

Or you could just let people like what they like and ignore the pedals you don't like. I mean, why crap on things that other people dig?

I dunno, never been a big fan of the "what do you like the least" threads. But I guess I could take my own advice on this one and just ignore it. Heyo!

Because we humans use to be completely wrong in almost everything we do?

Now I’m off-topic, but I have a short question about the Polytone distortion.

For a while ago, I read in a guitar magazine that John Scofield used the red-knob-distortion sound during a period in his career. The article said that he even created his sound with this distortion channel. I’ve never associated Scofield with Polytone amps and can’t find any information from other sources about this statement. Is this true, did Scofield ever use the Polytone distortion?

On another note (no pun intended), did you ever start a post or thread, and when it shows up again later you have no recollection of doing it?

    I have.
