you say you got great customer service but isn't the fact that they misrepresented the guitar (the very good rating) contrary to that?

I took away this: Be aware that when you order vintage gear from a large retailer you may be disappointed. However, CME made it such that my trial came at no cost and no risk. Sure it was disappointing, but I didn't pay a dime to give this guitar a shot.

That damage is gut-wrenching. I think Cunamara's bar fight scenario is probably correct. I'm amazed the top and back are still functional.

Another instrument you might wish to consider. (The model number is wrongly listed). Perhaps the price is high for a re-fin model by US standards, but if it's structurally sound, it could be a great players grade guitar. The pics look very nice.

Oh man, I've been trying to keep my mouth shut about this, but I got a great deal on 1952 es 150 in pristine condition and it arrived last week. I'll post a NGD thread soon when I get a chance to record a demo. Thank you all for your posts.
