So the Overdrive Deluxe is built and installed in the cabinet, Bill is working it over testing it - it is going out today and should be here Saturday. Can't wait. Gotta make some smaller pics (hold on) of it, so here ya go. Now based on my experience trying to listen to YouTube videos of the Texas Flood and knowing what I was able to accomplish with it with my arch tops (totally different direction that is oh so satisfying) I can't wait to get the Overdrive Deluxe - the videos on YouTube aren't very inspiring (what else is new)...

Cabinets for both amps made by MojoTone... The Deluxe is a smooth brown (early 60s) tolex, like what was on my 4x10 Fender Concert back in the day.

eWell FedEx got the amp here overnight, incredulous - like getting bump d to First Class for a long flight I guess. First thing I noticed, compared to the other Dumble style amps was taking it out of the box, no near stroke doing it - this thing is light, like an old Deluxe Reverb (light, say compared to a Pro or Concert). The MojoTone cabinet is lovely. Igrabbed my Golden Eagle and took the two channels for a spin. I obviously need to talk to Bill at Sebago about some tweaking tips like I did when I got the Texas Flood. Man she is great. It's supposed to snow a lot, I got almost all my shopping done so if we get pasted by snow I can hunker down in the casa and just relax playing. This IS my Christmas present to myself...

Love all you guys, I know things will quiet down here with the Holidays coming so let me just say it's been a great year getting to know all of youse better...

    Mikey,
it was really great getting to know you too.
Im glad you are having a lot of fun, surrounding yourself with all the toys a man can have.
Your goodness and generosity has made it possible for a particular family here in Jersey to have security. You went over and above with that and I'm proud to know you.
    Have a great day buddy.

What a sweet lookin' amp, Big! And I know it'll sound as good as it looks. Congratulations, and may the best of the season be yours. "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

Congrats BM! How does it stack up to your expectations? How does it handle your archtop? Are the mods you are looking into completing aimed at increasing clean headroom. This amp fascinates me, so enquiring minds want to know.

Well I'm not doing any mods to these - would have no clue and inclination to mess with electronics. That said when I DO catch up with Bill from Sebago Sound I am sure he's gonna say something like: "Ok, on the left input set this and such and do so and so - and on the right input set this,
flip this (jazz) switch to Rock and do this and so on"... He did that with the Texas Flood and it was like turning on a light in a dark room. I did grab the GB100 this morning and dorked around with the left input (the high gain one) and played some "Oh Carol" - that was fun. This is a "Overdrive Deluxe" so it's supposed to be dirty and gnarly. But I haven't had time to really mess with it. I will. And will say again Bill's work is amazingly clean. Just like Andy Fuchs these guys are REALLY very anal about their wiring and so on. Bill says he tends to make about 5 of these at a time, slow and sure like a tortoise. I get that: I used to have certain popular bracelet and pendant designs that sold as fast as I could make them and would do a handful at a time... More later. I got my cleaning lady coming next Saturday and her daughter from Poland will be coming along - hope to get her to film me noodling around with both amps...

Snowing like crazy here - first time in years, in forever actually, that I can watch it snow and not have to shovel any of it... "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"

Max, this photo does not do it any justice in the looks department. I found that sucker on eBay and set up an eSnipe bid for $3200.00 and then while watching the auction getting close to closing found it for sale on Reverb for $2000.00 plus shipping with a BIN. DAMN $2000.00 and it was far finer in person that the photos... Next morning I find a '79 GB10nt with an early body (fatter and sharper cutaway) for $1500.00 !! I mean dang boy !!!! Two of my dream guitars in less than 12 hours. I was so hyper I took half a Xanax to calm the hell down !! LOL !!!

Me, I like my abalone pounded super thin, dredged in seasoned flour and sautéed in butter briefly. I eat it right at the stove with a tiny squeeze of lemon juice. Best doggone eating ever. Having spent a lot of my life in the San Francisco area I remember my folks and our neighbors going up to the Mendocino county coast camping. Many mornings my Dad and his buddies would go to this one area at low tide, rappel down this cliff (my Dad was in the 101st) and get their daily limit. Bring them back, we'd shuck 'em and freeze them. Then once home we'd slice them as thin as we could while they were thawing and them pound the living daylights out of those steaks. Let me tell ya boys that is some fine eating...

    Wow,

Big Mike ... You are in Dumble Overdrive Heaven!!

I love the sound of the Texas Flood, shared it with my boys and they are all drooling (from a YouTube video even!!)

Looked around for some local (SF Bay) Dumble and found this... Too much for me... but somebody local would love

Fuchs Overdrive Special on Craigslist...$1850 (I'm not affiliated)
Guitar Tube Combo Amp - FUCHS ODS 50 1x12"

BTW: My buddy Jimmy and his Dad (A Portugese Fisherman) used to do the same thing at Mendecino
(prying Abalne off the rocks) and their mom would pound them thin and fry with butter/seasonings..
Oh God they were delicious! Almost as sweet as a DUMBLE!!!!

    You are giving me AAS!!!

Yum....that is how I cook abalone also. Both me and my brother are scuba divers. Every year we go to Fort Bragg during abalone season and get our limit and go home for a nice feast.

It it is against the law to get them with scuba tanks so we scope them out first with our tanks and then go back later on and get the nice and big ones.

There's a fish market on Clement in little chinatown that usually has them. No, you have go in and ask for the boss, carry yourself real serious like you're a chef, just hang tight, the guy comes out and you tell him real quiet like "abalone ??" and he gets them from the back. They look a wee small but I never stick around or complain. Damn when I worked on upper Fillmore there was this real fine woman who lived in a flat above the restaurant. She worked in a cheese shop around the corner on California Ave. I had a little crush on her but always carried myself politely. I'd bake biscotti and regularly she'd stop in just to say hello (my heartbeat fast men) and I've give her big bags. Never figured it would ever go anyplace. One day she drops in with a big bag... She says "this is for being such a sweet guy"... It had two pounds of abalone steaks. She knew some guy in the neighborhood who went up towards Mendocino and would get his daily limit and he gave her quite a lot. That night I went home, sliced and pounded it, and sautéed it up right here, Lucky the cat eagerly pawing my pant leg for her tribute... Good days.
