Yeah, I can't stand 6100s and the like. I play several different styles, including slide, and huge frets do none of them any favors. Even for blues, I'd rather work a little harder with smaller frets.

Thanks everyone for weighing in. I'm going to spend a couple weeks with a set of 10's to see how that works and feels. It will give me enough time to obsess over the Warmoth and USACG sites to make a reasonable decision

One thing to consider with Warmoth necks is that they need leveling and crowning. I believe they tell you this on their site (at least they used to) so you need to take those costs into consideration. I've read that the USAG necks may not need as much work to make them play their best.

Not true, have two Warmoth's necks on guitars (a tele and a jazzmaster) and the fretwork was excellent.

Warmoth Custom Guitar Parts - Fret Work
Your experience has obviously been different than mine as I've had at least 6 necks from Warmoth and they all needed to have the frets slightly leveled and polished. None were good to go out of the box.

My Musikraft neck came all polished up and I assume leveled. The dual action truss rod adjustment comes into play, but my test stringing resulted in no buzzing anywhere. Hope to have the guitar finished soon. Just pick up wire and jack hookups left. Then pick guard, control plate mounting, stringing and setup, and relegating another guitar to its case so I can have this one out. I am psyched.

Interesting. Do you like in a vastly different cimate from where Warmoth makes their necks?
