The strap button on this guitar is unsightly imho, but it works great and it results in a very comfortable position for me .. I like to use a strap even while sitting and hold the guitar in a "classical" position ... and the guitar does not tip forward with this strap button location ...
Also the size of the guitar is not an issue while holding it in the classical position ... it is very comfortable to hold
I usually use a click on strap system wrapped around the headstock ... that works well, but the guitar tends to slip down to my right when I do that and I need to adjust it occasionally
I'll have to see how my other archtops fair after the "honeymoon" phase is over .... I can't imagine selling one of my L5s, but if they go too long without being played I may have to consider selling one to open up space and free up some cash .... maybe a Super Eagle or a 19 inch archtop would be worth a try

Damn, that S400 looks incredible, and huuuge compared to the Wes! I'm sure the sound of that giant just knocks you over. Happy NGD, congrats & enjoy!

Welcome to the dark side of BIG archtop madness BD!

A big Congrats Bluedawg. My blonde 2014 is just starting to open up nicely. S400's are total tone monsters. You can see why Kenny Burrell never had a bad sound. You can't get a bad sound if you tried out of a S400.
They don't call them the flagship King of Archtops for nothing. I like your taste.....just like mine :-) Enjoy !!!

Man, that is beautimous. Happy playing!

Dawg! Beautiful fiddles!
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt & guess that you're still a 'young pup.'
But, after a certain age, one says "delayed gratification my ##s !"

Delayed gratification suggests you'll be here tomorrow.
I knew a 55 year old who was reluctant to spend because he was worried about some future day. He died in his sleep from a heart attach at 55.
Now is as good as it gets. Tomorrow is promised to nobody. Play em while you can

Is 53 still a "young pup?"

That's a major league acquisition. I would burn my hands with all that flame. Congrats on NGD.
