Hello form Italy
My old Roland Cube chorus 60 from early 80's has frequently problems in elettronic very hard to rapair.
The come sounds good
So I think to buy a mini head to connect to original come.
I watch to QUILTER 101, GK MB200 or DV MARK micro 50
What 's the best dog you for jazz tone like Joe Pass , Jim Hall of more mostra like Pat Metheny ?
I also play blues.
I use also e direct recording without cab with hardware or software cab emulation. I have both.

Hello Guido
I am not familiar with the Quilter 101. I ordered a DV mark 50 from Thomann but returned it as it was too noisy when I was not playing. I then purchased a GK MB200 which I am extremely happy with. As the DV mark 50 is an Italian build you should be able to find one to try. I thought it sounded quite good at play, but again it was not quiet between playing, which I couldnt stand. Hope that helps, 0zoro

Hello Ozoro
Quiet is a pronlem DV Mark infact I have play 3 Little Jazz and all have problem of noisy fan and of i turn the middle control to max.
A dealer bit far from me has both DV MARK and GK MB200.
When it open after holydays I go to play.
About MB 200 I have a question :
it's bass head so is bit top dark for guitar?
What jazz tone can you set with?
Do you play other music?
What can do you use ?

I think Jim Soloway use GK MB-200 with hollow-body guitars.
-
I see, thanks
Hope he read this post and tell us his opinion

DV Mark Micro 50 sounds pretty good in this video.
-
Thanks markway !!!
@ Steve Z
I have watch that video , but two friends have listen it live in shop and tell me già sound is top closed and not respect the instrument tone expecially of hollow body.
So I'm very confused

A doubt was born in my mind .
MB 200 and DV MARK micro 50 has standard da while Quilter 101 mini head has e very personal da with tri-Q, high cut plus choice of voice .
Is it this eq easy to use to obtain a sound then traditional ?
QUILTER sound is oriented to any famous sound or is transparent?
Star are the must transparent or this 3 ?

I've owned the MB200 for quite a while. I also bought a Quilter 101 Mini several months ago so I had lots of opportunity to compare the two head to head. I liked the Quilter but I ultimately preferred the MB200 so I sold the Quilter and bought a second MB200.
-
i also own an MB200. I like it better than the quilter also but it's tone controls are better suited for bass than guitar. If you are looking for a fender style treble control, you will not find it with the MB200
-
I wonder if he's using a dist pedal in front or if the amp itself can be overdriven like that.

I see the MB200 has a fan , no-one seems to mention it tho

I have posted previously that the EQ on Quilter 101 is hard to dial in, but that it is a very "tubey" sounding solid state amp. (see Pedalboard sized power amp?)
Since then, I have permanently paired the 101 with a Boss GE7 graphic equalizer and have been super happy with the result. This is now my "go-to" amp. So, if you don't mind adding some form of EQ to your rig, the 101 is really really good.

The fan on mine has only ever come on once and that was when I had something blocking the vents.

Thanks Jim I appreciate your music.
Hey mie giù Per far MB200 ?
What of the 2 head is more transparent and respect the tone of hollow body guitars?
Quilter mini head 101 EQ are easy to use ?
What of 2 head is better for Joe Pass tone or Jim Hall or modern Metheny ?

The EQ on Quilter is definitely NOT easy to use. It's a very quirky setup and I found it to be really non-intuitive.

😊Excuse me Jim for the tone I meam similar to hot the same ! For Joe Pass Tone i mean Classic tone more dark then modern. Non Hall has a more bright tone than Joe.
Pag Metheny or George Benson beh different than the older two.
It Quilter eq is top strange is not for me I line classic control so MB 200 is better , I think.
Do know italian DV MARK micro 50 head ?
A friend help me that there la a shop hot far from me that has both GK MB200 and DV MARK micro 5 head so maybe I can play with both at the same time.
Cons for good cab? Initially I'll use the cone of old Roland cube chorus 60 ( early 80's ) that have some elettronic issue cause hear of use , but after I would bit a good can

Other question GK MB200 how work with pedals in front of input such overdrive, chorus delay reverb ?
Inviato dal mio SM-J500FN utilizzando Tapatalk

I don't know about overdrive but I run a reverb pedal (Hardwire RV-7) and a Tremolo (Boss TR-2) in front of mine and it sounds just great. Without any verb I think it's a bit on the dry side.
-
I try my effects when go to shop
Last question can this head works without any speaker connected , for silent pratiche or home quiet recording without can and mod using direct out to pc sound card ?
Thanks

MB200 does not work well with overdrive. It does not have enough high frequency content and the treble control is not optimized for guitar.
