I have the reunion blues archtop gig bag that works fine for an L5 but the BK doesn't fit due to the larger headstock.

Not interested in one of the cronkite big $$$ cases...

Hmmmm... I wonder if it would fit in my RB gig bag. It's an older one, and sometimes you can find them on Ebay. I think it was for a flattop guitar.

    How tall is the guitar?

Jack, the USA made Reunion Blues 18 inch bag (long out of production, but used examples show up now and then) have room for the BK headstock. I use mine for my Super 400 (fits perfectly) and my Guild Artist Awards (a tiny bit loose, but works just fine).

How long does it need to be? I like the Gator soft cases. The come for 15, 15 or 18 inch guitars.

I went through this for my Heritage Jack. I finally decided to splurge and ordered a bag from Pro Bag (probagwebstartscom). It's still pricey but but not quite at the Cronkhite Level and at least I'll finally have a case that truly fits this guitar.

I always use a hard case; I know that in some cities it is easier to use a gig bag. Love all my 7 BK's. This is a 1961 Custom with original parts and original PAF's. It plays great! (A lot of
them have a neck lift in the fingerboard extension because of the long neck heel...but this one is straight and plays great...one of my favs.)

Thanks but I already have hard cases for my 2 BK guitars. Looking for a gig bag that fits.

Any gig bag for a dreadnought will do.

    HTH,

Jack, what are the BK's dimensions (especially end-to-end length )? I have a dreadnought sized Mono and can measure it to see if the BK will fit inside. I've had a bunch of different gig bags (various padded cloth ones, the Mono, and a Reunion Blues continental). I think the Mono strikes the best balance between protectiveness and weight/carry-ability of the ones I've tried. Not quite as bullet-proof as the RBC (which I bought from you, so I assume you know what they're like), but plenty strong -- I've dropped my acoustic in it, and it came out with headstock intact. Really good pockets and pouches, too (more useful than the RBC).

    HTH,
Not necessarily, they might not be long enough.

Last year (I think) somone posted a chart comparing interior measurements of a bunch of archtop-sized gigbags. But now I can't find it.

i have the gator bag (referenced above) arriving today. Based on the measurements it should be close...

just wanted to report that the gator bag does fit the kessel but just barely. The headstock is pressing up against the top of the bag which isn't cool. There's an insert in the bag which protects the bottom of the guitar. The insert can be removed and it fits better but i'm a bit nervous with just a layer of foam protecting the bottom of the guitar. Also, the quality feels a step or two worse than my reunion blues. Too bad the reunion blues guys didn't just make their case 3/4" longer.

I just ordered this from Guitar Center for my es-175. When it arrives I'll let you know the inner dimensions.

The Wolfpak fits the 175 perfectly, with about 1 3/16" extra room at the headstock. Not sure if that's enough room for the BK.

Very nice, that's a great fit. But a BK won't fit.

I figured there probably wouldn't be enough width at the lower bout. That's too bad - these polyfoam cases are great: light and secure.

No, the bk is much taller than the 175. I have reunion blues that my L5 fits in and the L5 is much taller than the Bk but it's not big enough for the kessel. The gator case works fine.
