Guitar: PRS SE semi-hollow
Amp: Mesa Boogie Studio .22
Settings: neck pickup, tone rolled down somewhat, amp tone controls flat
Strings: round wound
Pickups: stock
What sound you are aiming for: jazzy enough. I play the PRS semi-hollow because I can also use it for rock, blues, and metal.

This is embarrassing... (Please note my newbie-ness and my complete lack of knowledge on anything outside of a dreadnought western guitar)
Rouge Acoustic/Electric
- Got it from Musician's Friends blemished rack for $75 and re-soldered the output jack.
Peavy Amp
- Leftover from a starter set that was given to me when I was younger (the guitar is worse than my Rouge).
20ft Musician's Friend Braided chord
- I needed something longer that the 10ft rubber one I had and I liked the way it felt on the rack. However, it binds and tangles exceptionally easy so I will probably not buy another like it.
However, what I want to buy (with money...)
Guitar:
- Ibanez Artcore AG75 -or- Epiphone ES-175
Amp
- Crate VTX15B
My goal is to have a entry level setup that still has a good sound to it. I especially want a hollow-body since I don't always play in places I can plug in (street corners). But, time and money are always a factor. I never can get enough of either for any hobby I pursue.

at the moment (I'Ve got lots of guitars and amps) it is:
Guitar: Fender American Standard Stratocaster (heavily modded,..)
Amp: Laney Vc-15
Settings: Neck and Middle Pickup together (I have a special switch to route them together to get a humbucker sound - this is the thing I use). I don't use my tone and volume controls, because I don't think that that sounds good on a strat. EQ: B 7 Mid: 6 High: 3, Reverb on 4
Strings: GHS Brite Flats.
Pickups: custom wound replacement neck pickup from a guitar luthier in my area.
What sound you are aiming for: My own. But a famous player with a similar sound (but much more highs) would be Tuck Andress.
kind regards, Tobias

How is the clean and semi blues tone of you fractal audio ultra? ...I hear some good things about it, does work well for through a PA or guitar amp?...Is it hard to dial in a great or does it take alot of tweaking... I hear it's has real amp like feel to it ...Man for over $2000. the price is very high IMO.

Guitars:
Super 400 CES (GHS 1315 strings)
ES-350-T (D'Aquisto custom gauge set)
Mark Campellone standard Archtop - Oval Hole (D'Addario 115w)
V Colletti custom archtop - oval hole (strings, work in progress)
Yamaha C171 classcal cutaway (EJ46)
Fender Tele thinline - modified (whatever in the 10-47 range)
Picks: Jazz 205's dunlop
Amps: Blues Jr, Carvin Nomad 50w, 1974 Acoustic G-120.
I use each Gibson guitar for a different setting. The Super400 for duos but the ES for larger groups where I need more volume. The two oval holes are for solo or duo. The nylon speaks for itself. The tele is just for fun.
I will be purchasing a Giammbattista G6 cutaway as soon as the Classical Guitar Store in Philly get's delivery. It's made in France by JB Castellucia.
Does anybody know the brand or maker?

GUITARS
Ibanez, L5 1976 Copy
Vintage VSA 750 D'Aquisto New Yorker copy
Fender Strat
AMPS
Roland Cube 60
Fender Jazz King
STRINGS
TI GB's 14's
Strat D'addario 13's chromes
EFFECTS
amps reverb - just a shade
SOUND
Trad sound - very percussive style with a big emphasis on rhythm changes within the same timing. I play a lot of "rest substitution" throughout the progressions. I need note clarity with some snap to the upstroke chords. Strat used infrequently but I enjoy breaking the mold and having a bluesy blast once in a while. I really must fit a humbucker in the neck position, such a comfortable expressive guitar - perfect for everything - except jazz
LEADS
Nothing special just keep the jacks clean and leads short.
-
Polytones and Cubes seem to be leading the popularity stakes for amps
-
Epiphone es-175 reissue
Gibson '57 pickups
Tomastik Jazz Swing 13s (flatwounds)
Roland Cube 80x
I kind of like Herb Ellis' sound, but with a Zoom h4 reverb effect I can get a more modern "electric" sound as well
I also have my eyes on a Sadowsky Semi-Hollow, what a cool guitar and you can't believe how light it is.
-
- Clarity - A lot of times w/ the tele I use the neck and bridge together for a clear sound. On the Parker w/ the singles I usually play w/ the neck and middle together. Non-traditional "jazz" sounds seem to work for me though I absolutely love traditional players and sounds too. Jim Hall and Jimmy Raney come immediately to mind as does Ed Bickert.

So, after years of wanting, I finally got myself a new setup.
Here was the old:
Rouge Dreadnought Acoustic
10" Peavey starter amp
No effects
And the new:
Epiphone Emperor (Joe Pass signature)
Ibanez T35 Amp
Danelectro Chorus, Distortion, and Overdrive pedals
I'm using this setup for a couple musicals I'm playing for this summer and already my sound is 110% better.

better than TI's-GB's--lower tension in the middle, but not as drastic

sound much like a hazzelnut though--more like a coconut,--I think if
