I've always wanted to have a Gibson L5-S, especially the one with the low impedance pickups. I've got two Gibson L6-S, one is a reissue and the other is from 1977, they're both great guitars that sound superb for jazz, but can easily cover any other style. The L5-S is kind of a more elegant version of that IMO.

I had a cherry sunburst L5-S, right around 1980. Guitar was just *so* dang heavy! Sold it to a friend, and haven't seen it since.

She comes with the guitar. I might be tempted. I can always sell off the guitar afterwards.

Lol. I noticed the humongous binding also.

The Stones played these sometimes ?
Interesting- remember when the Stones with Mick Taylor turned into a killer Fusion
Band for about 5 or 6 minutes at the end of
" Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" ?
I was amazed when I heard that- I was like "the Stones are THIS good now?" but they never went there again...
-
I had one too. Great neck, but I could never get comfortable holding the guitar.
