So I ended up buying it, it's a wonderful guitar. I do however have one concern. I just adjusted the truss rod and noticed a very slight amount of it sticking out from the nut. As some of you might remember I had a 1998 es-175 with a serious truss rod issue where the truss rod stuck out really far. I fear I may have bought another dud. What is the acceptable amount? all my other guitars including my gibsons have a truss rod end that's flush with the end of the nut. According to my research seeing some threads above the nut is acceptable. I think I will get a replacement nut because my Gibson truss rod tool does not fit it very well then I will lubricate the threads then keep an eye on it.
What do the experts out there think?
    HEre is a photo.

    Hi Steve,

My '85 has a few more exposed threads than your '85. It adjusts fine and I've never even thought about it til now.

Interesting, I saw a similar one on reverb recently.

I have 3 Gibson's that look like that and the truss rod works fine. As long as the truss rod works you are OK. You can always put a washer under the nut.

Now the 98 is a different story.

I'm using my atomic amplifire pedal for this using the fender twin model with spring reverb and 450ms tape echo.

yes, it's the easiest playing archtop that I've owned. Actually feels like I'm playing an electric guitar, the sustain is great so switching between this and my other electrics is no problem.
The tone seems brighter to me than the 1998 that I had, it's definitely lighter too.
I don't mind the super low frets at all either.

I can't get my Fender Mustang 3 V2 to sound like that. Trade?
