A tiny little dab, please. It is easy to overdo it with Autosol. Keep it away from Goldplated hardware. That means residual amounts on tips of fingers or cleaning cloth. If you can smell Autosol on your fingertips then wash your hands before touching the goldplated parts.
I would usually follow it up with a clean cloth to take the excess Autosol off the plain steel strings.
Autosol is great for shining up frets. Tape off the fretboard.Last edited by Jabberwocky; 09-14-2016 at 09:03 AM.

I'm using GB14s because they are 14s, but I think I'm keeping George in champagne and ladies.

GB12s on my Unity, TISwing13s on my Super Eagle and Aria PE180. TI Swing11s on my solid body guitars. TI Jazz Bebop 12s on my Gibson L50.
Hmm? All over the map...but all TI.

Thanks for the advice.

The BeBop is a great string.

Ditto here... Tried the swings, but ended up using only GB's on my electric archtop, per suggestion by previous owner.

For my accoustic only archtops, I only use Pryamid Nickel wound, mostly 13's.
Any flatwound strings sounded dull unamplified.

Was just comparing these two sets on the strings by mail website; the core on the JS sets are listed as "silk wrapped," where the Benson's core is listed as "round." What does that mean in practical terms? Not a clue.

i’ve always love the TI strings because they last so long for a guy like me. I use the GB 12s on my George Benson guitars. Are use the jazz swings on my non-cutaway L5s.
And I use the GB 14s on my big girls those hefty her strings really make that top vibrate
String preference is such a personal specific you can’t say to somebody that they’re wrong it’s what they prefer and any other opinions. Just lotta bullshit.
I’m big Mike and I approve this message
