I don't know if this qualifies as a "gigbag", but it's as light as a bag, has two nice shoulder straps, & is a rigid polyfoam design, which I think protects the guitar better. I have one for my Sadowsky Bruno (15" lower bout) that would probably work great for the GB10. I also have a Dreadnought size that would probably work for the 175, however, I have not found one that will fit my full size 17" Campellone, you'll have the same issue with an L5.

EDIT: Just to follow up, that link is for a Dreadnought size, the one I use for the Bruno is the Classical size

There are likely more however none of the dreadnaught bags I've checked out would work. They're interior length is too short.

Would like to know how much it costs to have a Cronkhite bag made.

    +1 on Glenn's bags!

Leather bag in the $300's, cordura less (depending on the size of the bag, of course).

+1 on Glenn Cronkhite. He's made 2 bags for me. One for my Super V and one for my Heritage Super Eagle. The best soft cases you can buy.

    Hi Jack,
As suggested above by Spook, take a look at the Reunion Blues Continental bags. You'll want the dreadnought size for a 16 or 17" archtop.

I did a rambling video about mine for an older thread. A friend recently bought a couple on my recommendation and I understand that the current version has been tweaked to resolve the issue I had with the bag riding high on my back.

2 leather bags for L-5's from Glenn Cronkhite about 10 yrs ago and still going strong and we gave our saxophonist one for his tenor on his birthday. he liked it so much he bought one for his alto.

stay away from newer Chinese Reunion Blues stuff....

    Jack,

I have three gig bags made by Reunion Blues in San Francisco back in the day when Glenn was running the show. They are all 30 years old and do the trick quite well. By all means get Glenn to make your bags.

I have a leather 16 inch, a nylon 17 inch and a nylon 18 inch. The 18 inch is for my Super 400 and my Artist Awards (while the Artist awards are 17 inch guitars, their large headstocks need the bigger bag). The 17 inch is for my 17 inch archtops and the 16 inch is for my dreadnaught and my 16 inch archtops. I use the 16 inch for my 335 and my classical, (though both of those guitars would be better served by their own bags).

I also have a made in China Reunion Blues bag for my solidbodies. This is a very good bag as well, but is not as well engineered as the bags made by Glenn and his crew back in the day. I will say that if you can get a good deal on a Reunion Blues bag, it will probably be quite satisfactory.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Marc

Probag is nice too, I have one for my ES-333. It's indestructible, very thick padding, protects very well and looks good. They fetch around $300 I see on their site (I had mine for much less, but I was lucky).

I have a few. I would recommend Roadrunner. Second to Kaces. Well below the price of a good hard case and a cheap hard case. They both come in different levels of padding and features. I think mine were less than $50.

Glenn quoted me just over $400 for a leather bag that was already made, and a cordura bag is about $100 less. The Probag starts at $288 for a leather bag. That may still be more than you want to spend, but perhaps if you include a price range suggestions can be more appropriate.

A Mono M80 won't work for a 17" bout archtop in either width or length.

I'm a big fan of Mooradian gig bags. They are the only one I use, for solidbody, full size archtop and Gypsy guitars. Under $300, great quality and very comfortable. As a city boy, no car, I have to run all over town sometimes, from gig to gig, public transport, and those bags are the best!

I love my Mono M80 for my Strat. About $200. Will a dreadnought sized Mono fit a bigger archtop?

I have a Reunion Blues Continental (semi-hollow sized), a Mooradian (strat sized), and a Mono dread size (I used it for both a dread and a 16" arcthop). The Mooradian is the most comfortable to carry and has the best pouches, but is less protective than the others. I have no qualms using it with a solidbody. I've owned other padded cloth bags, and it's much better than any of these, but I would be a bit nervous about using it with an archtop in the trunk of a car or other situations where it would get bounced around a lot or have stuff on top of it. The RB Continental is very protective (as protective as any hard case I've owned), but heavy, and sits awkwardly high when carried as a backpack. I think the Mono strikes the best balance between a hard case and a padded cloth. If I ever get another archtop, it's what I would use.

Would have to be a pretty small archtop.

    hi jz,
    if you wanna go cheap
i got one of these recently Thomann Acoustic-Steel Gigbag Premium - Thomann UK
    for my 16" archtop ....
its really cheap but a good solid bag ...
    robust , 30mm padding ...
    comfortable to wear
working out really well at the moment ....
    keeps light rain out too

(the only downside is the 3 pockets have
single zips , so they always
zip up to the side ....nice heavy duty zips though)

the main zip is a double BTW
