Are they real Klein guitars? Because if they are I know a few people who paid a lot more to have their Kleins made by Steve Klein and they were never delivered and money was never returned. Everybody thought he'd gone under. Curiouser and curiouser.

No they are not real... They are copies... But I am curious if anyone knows the companies reputation
-
The pictures on such websites show the 'real' guitars. If you send money they will build you an approximate copy. You get what you pay for, a 400 guitar. No Less, no more.
-
No way! I'm going to send them a picture of a Bosendorfer piano. Can I send them a picture of my wife when she was young and sweet? Hmmm on second thought, maybe cheapness isn't everything.

Everything about that site bothers me. First they make guitars but I didn't find an address. As notes pictures of real Kliens all over, but just the one of their copy. Then that list of Rock stars and typically that would be a past customer list, no that who they copy.
You want a Klein or Klein copy like a Canton or VB or one or two others making Klein like guitars you're going to pay good for it.
-
I just want a cheapie that can play in tune.. And travel easy.... Yeah I agree it looks sketch..... Still wondering if anyone here has ordered one
-
I think it'll be the last time you see that $485.
Who uses a HOTMAIL account for business?
-
Hahahaha I didn't catch that
-
I tried to check out the page and my internet security went on red alert..

Pretty sure Rare Electric Guitar is a Chinese company making unlicensed copies.
Their domain name is registered to FOSHAN YIDONG NETWORK CO. LTD, located in China according to Google.

Buy A Squire Classic Vibe and you'll be happy and not ripped off or hacked.

Probably just need to get a hard shell for my cheapie

Not to scare anyone, but I do know that these companies, if they don't have a distributor Stateside, face prohibitive export and shipping fees unless they ship somewhat shadily as "gifts." That means there's always an unspoken possibility that a Chinese bargain can be had and maybe it's a matter of roulette whether yours will not make it stateside. Or how long that company will be doing business. It's also not unheard of for these guitars to get hung up in transit by the Lacey Act, be made from unstable tropical woods, have abysmal flakey pasty finishes, employ soft metal hardware, use pickups that sound like crap.
The Chinese government has been dealing with a very complicated set of rules, and there's a complete set of rules to get around them. Just something to be aware of when getting your Vintage L-5 made in China...or if you're indulging in Eine Kline Nichtmusic.

Yeah, the site scares me a little, too.
There's a guy in Las Vegas who makes inexpensive ones, and one is for sale on the Bay: Headless Klein Inspired Guitar Tele Humbucker Pickups Les Paul Stop Tailpeice | eBay (ugly paint job, IMO, but a decent guitar -- I keep one at work, where I practice at lunch! I bring out the Forshage ergo, though, for gigs!)

I've been running across this web site for quite some time now, often redirected to it, so it's possibly legit. But the caveats do apply. Check out this one:
1990 Guild Archtop Artist Award guitar price:$0 - Rare Electric Guitars

A buddy of mine put some brass inserts into his tele body an uses bolts to take the neck off when he travels; puts it in his suitcase.

I've heard of others doing that so the guitar can fit in about any airlines overhead compartment. Some upright bass player have the neck on the bass made removable and it just slides in and big bolt with knob to tighten it in place. Makes the bass a easier size to transport. Seem like that would be a easy solution for travel guitar if some company would develop it.

Brass insert is a good idea. Makes me want to do the same

There's a beautiful Forshage ergo for sale over at TGP right now: The Gear Page if you want the "real deal."

My Klein is up for sale on eBay: RARE Klein BF 96 Custom Electric Guitar Built by Lorenzo German | eBay
It's one of Lorenzo's instruments.

I have one of these, traveler guitar speedster it's a well constructed decent guitar and sounds ok but most of all it's small. That top wing unscrews, it comes with it's own gig bag. I carry it on when flying and have never had an issue or been asked to check it, it fits under the seat or in the overhead. Apparently, it comes across as a small tennis racket in the bag, I get asked how long i've been playing tennis, lol
