I've got the Carvin MB12 that I use for bass. I really like it for bass.

I'll try to dial it in for guitar tomorrow and post my results.

I really appreciate the continued discussion on this thread and thanks to Fep for recording and posting about the Carvin MB12. Carvin wasn't even on my radar and now has my close attention.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Henriksen. the Henriksen Jazz Amp 112ER would be perfect. I have the original 112 and it is fantastic for guitar and bass. When playing acoustically I attach an external Tweety that covers the highs. The beauty of the 112ER model is that the Tweety is built in, so you can simply turn it on or off as desired. I would think you could find one for $500-$600 used.

Yes, I have a JazzAmp112 which is a wonderful match for my Eastman AR-403ce. I used to have a Tweetey which was excellent for enhancing the high end of electro-acoustic guitars, but I sold it when I sold my electro-acoustic hybrid guitar. I got my son's bass player friend to try it with electric bass, and it sounded great as well - deep and clear, with very nice string definition. So I heartily agree - a 112ER would be ideal for the OP's requirements. $600 used sounds about right.

Ted Greene used a Peavey 115 Bass Amp for a while.

Not many people remember the short lived 'Peavey Jazz Classic 400' that was essentially a 115 bass amp only called 'Jazz' because more than a few Jazz guys in the 80's were using 115 bass amps.
