Happy NGD Jim. I'm glad they were able to get it done the way you wanted them to. But, I really had very little doubt that you would be any thing less than very pleased with the guitar. As I told you . . those guys just know how to build arch tops. Heck man . . they'd better! They've been doing it for over 50 years! And that's not collectively. . . . . . that's each of them! Marv and Jim are just great. If you lived closer and visited with them during the build . . it would have been even more fun for you than it already was.
However, the build was definitely a failure for you in one regard. You mentioned to me that you wanted to make it so unique to you and your playing style and your personal preferences . . that you'd have to keep it forever . . because no one else would want it. You could sell that guitar immediately to any number of players right here on this forum. So, your plan didn't work out the way you wanted. lolol

Darn tootin'... Dibs! You could sell that guitar immediately to any number of players right here on this forum.

Jim,
The guitar sounds the way I think an archtop should. Just superb.

Wow Jim, That's how you get a big sound out of a smaller guitar! I think more players will be thinking of a longer scale after hearing this. Nice

OK, got my breath back. Jim, that is absolutely stunning. I'm not sure how much more you can ask of a builder of guitars other than that they make you something as beautiful as that. Wish you well to play her.

Thanks all. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this guitar. When I finalized the specs with Jim Deurloo, I decided to max out the acoustic properties and he warned me that I'd be giving up a bit of sustain in the exchange. With all solid woods and X-bracing, I was also a bit concerned about feedback issues. It turns out that my concerns and his warnings were unfounded. The sustain is almost like a solid body. Really for an arch top it's almost freakishly good and I haven't heard even a hint of feedback yet. It does like to be played a lot stiffer than I'm used to but I seem to be adjusting quickly and that seems to be a very small tradeoff for how good it sounds. The 36th Anniversary PAF is everything I was hoping for and between the guitar and the pickup, it's an incredibly easy guitar to record. There's just no noise at all. Probably the only change I'd make is to leave the dots off the fingerboard. That was my origin plan and given how bold the side dots are on the unbound neck, there's really no reason to have anything on the fingerboard. Oh well, maybe on the next one

So huge props to everyone at Heritage. The whole process was a joy from beginning to end and they built me a wonderfully musical guitar that seems to make me smile every time I play it.

BTW, I like the no neck binding. Have you seen the big side dots (lozenges?) on the Eastman Pisano models? I tried to find a picture on line and couldn't.
-
Now it's time for a video!
-
really great looking.. but you couldnt get them to fix the aria-pro headstock?
I love that the wood knobs are knurled. Never seen that before.
-
Now that your search is over, make a friend happy, walk your doggie!

Awesome. If it had a bound neck, I'd be in heaven. What kind of price range is something like this?

I second the motion!
